YB Normal Course Program

YB NORMAL STUDIO OF ARTS tattoo course program will prepare you, the artist to apply a safe and clean tattoo.
You will also be taught the proper handling of all equipment in the shop. At the completion of the 12-week program
you will be able to put together and take apart your own tattoo machine, colour set and to design your own
professional portfolio.

CURRICULUM DESCRIPTION

1] The HISTORY and TRADITIONS of tattoos.

2] NEEDLES - Learning needle configurations and the unique effects of each needle.

3] STERILIZATION STUDY - Learning how to protect yourself and your customer.

4] TATTOO MACHINE - Learning the parts of the machine, what needs adjusting and when to replace. The setting
of needles and troubleshooting techniques.

5] STENCILS - Application of the stencil effectively and where not to tattoo on parts of the body.

6] PRACTICAL STAGE - Learning the important of skin stretching, what to do and NOT to do.

7] GRAY WORK AND COLOUR WORK - Learning the differences with gray work and it's healing process. You will also
learn mixing of colours and the effects of each colour on the body.

8] THE COVER-UP - Learning what is the best cover-up and which colours work the best over what types of tattoos.

9] PRACTICE - Learning the important of 'Practice makes Perfect' and why you need to practice daily or on a
regular basis.

10] PRICING OF TATOOS - Learning how to set and calculate prices on tattoos depending on size and/or colour.
